Another successful year for the Friends of TJ Foundation Outing! After a year off, we were able to hold an event under unique circumstances. Thank you to all who were able to make the Foundation outing on September 24!
In years past, Huntington Country Club was filled with 300+ people in late June to raise money for The Friends of T.J. Foundation. The organization was founded to increase sarcoma research, improve treatment, and aid in the goal of finding a cure. In a typical year, people gathered for a large dinner and auction following a day of golf, bridge and tennis.
In 2020, although COVID-19 forced the event to take a new form, it was fantastic! We were sold out, with the capacity restrictions implemented, 18 foursomes played golf on September 24. We moved the auction to an online portal and, despite the new format and having fewer items available; we were still able to raise significant funds via the auction! We heard a Foundation update from Dr. Tom Arcati and an update on Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory activities from Dr. Chris Vakoc.
